Abstract

This article, with its historical-medical content, presents the arguments with which Prof. Pietro Betti (1784-1863) advocated the establishment of a single pharmacopeia for the newly born Kingdom of Italy, based on the 'Tuscan model'. He dedicated his last publication to this topic, published a few weeks before his death on 22 April 1863.
