Abstract

Introduction: To predict the regulatory mechanism and target of volatile oil components of Panax ginseng extract in gastric cancer by bioinformatics combined with network pharmacology.

Materials and methods: The volatile oil components of Panax ginseng extract were detected by GC-MS, and the targets of volatile oil components of Panax ginseng on gastric cancer were obtained through TCMSP, DisGeNET and MALACARDS database. Cytoscape 3.6.1 was used to construct the component-target-gastric cancer regulatory network and core network analysis of Traditional Chinese medicine extracts.

Results: The TCMSP database found that 10 volatile components of Panax ginseng with pharmacological effects were detected by GC-MS, and the network of "Traditional Chinese medicine compound - target - disease" was successfully constructed by sharing 67 targets with gastric cancer. GO annotation analysis was mainly related to steroid hormone receptor activity, receptor and ligand activity, cell adhesion molecular binding, etc. Meanwhile, KEGG enrichment analysis mainly covered the MAPK signaling pathway and PI3K-Akt signaling pathway (P<0.05). Cytoscape 3.6.1 Software obtained 23 core targets through in-depth analysis.

Conclusion: Panax ginseng volatile oil contains a variety of effective components that can regulate gastric cancer, and its mechanism of action is mainly through MAPK signaling pathway and PI3K-Akt signaling pathway involved in the treatment of gastric cancer.
