Introduction: Cataract (CA) is a pervasive visual disorder in the middle-aged and elderly population, with a high incidence. Phacoemulsification surgery is the most frequently-adopted clinical treatment scheme for it, but patients are likely to suffer a series of complications and adverse risk events including xerophthalmia after the surgery. A scientific nursing mode can contribute to double results in improving the efficacy of CA with doctors together. This study was to determine the alleviation impact of phacoemulsification surgery combined with responsibility-based nursing mode on CA.
Materials and methods: Totally 78 patients with CA admitted to our hospital between January 2019 and March 2020 were enrolled, and assigned to the research group (n=45) treated by phacoemulsification surgery combined with responsibility-based nursing mode and the control group (n=33) treated by phacoemulsification surgery combined with routine nursing mode. The physiological stress reaction of the two groups was evaluated, and the complications and efficacy in the two groups were analyzed. In addition, the two groups were compared in nursing satisfaction, pain score, psychological score and life quality.
Results: Before surgery, the two groups were not greatly different in arterial pressure and heart rate, while during and after surgery, the research group presented a lower arterial pressure and heart rate than the control group. After treatment, no notable difference was found between the two groups in clinical efficacy, but the incidence of complications and pain scores in the research group were notably lower. In addition, the research group delivered better results in psychological state and nursing satisfaction than the control group. Moreover, according to follow-up results, the research group got higher life quality scores than the control group.
Conclusion: Phacoemulsification surgery combined with responsibility-based nursing mode can strongly contribute to higher efficacy on patients with CA and improve their psychological state, so it is of great application value in clinical practice.
