Abstract

Introduction: The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of operating-room detailed nursing on patients with PIH, as well as its clinical implications in easing perioperative pain and reducing complications.

Materials and methods: 103 cases of PIH were selected of which 48 cases received routine operation nursing (control group, CG) and 55 cases received operating-room detailed nursing (observation group, OG). The operation time, intraoperative bleed loss and hospital stay were observed. Systolic/Diastolic blood pressure (SBP/DPB) and heart rate (HR) were measured to evaluate the hemodynamic alterations in two groups before and after nursing, and patients’ psychological and pain status were assessed using the Self Rating Anxiety/Depression Scale (SAS/SDS) and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) respectively. The complications from admission to discharge were recorded to calculate the incidence rate, and the nursing quality and safety scores and service quality satisfaction scores were investigated. Patients’ prognostic quality of life was assessed using the Short-Form 36 Item Health Survey (SF-36) at the end of the 6-month follow-up.

Results: OG presented less the operation time, intraoperative blood loss and hospital stay than CG after nursing (P<0.05), as well as more stable hemodynamics manifesting as more evidently reduced SBP and DPB (P<0.05). In comparison with CG, the incidence of complications in OG was notably lower (P<0.05), and the SAS, SDS and VAS scores were lower (P<0.05). The survey results of nursing quality, safety and satisfaction were significant, with higher scores in OG (P<0.05). The prognostic follow-up revealed far superior scores of quality of life in all dimensions in OG compared with CG (P<0.05).

Conclusions: Operating-room detailed nursing can ease perioperative pain and reduce the incidence of complications in patients with PIH, with superior nursing effect, which has great clinical application value.
