Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the effect of psychological intervention on negative emotion and quality of life of lung cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Methods: Patients with advanced lung cancer were randomly divided into control group and intervention group. Both groups were given treatment, basic physiological and psychological nursing, exercise and family support guidance. In intervention group, the intervention of self-efficacy of emotion regulation included individual and group psychological training of emotion awareness, emotion expression and emotion regulation, which lasted for 2 months. The intervention effect of self-efficacy of emotion regulation was evaluated by the change of self score of anxiety and depression and quality of life.

Results: (a) Before the intervention, the two groups of patients' emotion awareness ability and emotion regulation ability were lower, but after the intervention, the scores of emotion awareness ability and emotion regulation self-efficacy in the intervention group were significantly higher than those in the intervention group. (b) Compared with the control group, the scores of anxiety and depression in the intervention group were significantly lower; (c) There was no significant difference in the scores of quality of life between the two groups before intervention while significantly higher after the intervention. (d) Correlation analysis showed that emotion awareness and emotion regulation self-efficacy were negatively correlated with patients' anxiety and depression, and positively correlated with patients' quality of life.

Conclusion: The training of emotion awareness, emotion expression and emotion regulation can significantly improve the self-efficacy of emotion regulation, which reduce the anxiety and depression and improve the quality of life of of lung cancer patients with radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
