Abstract

Objective: To analyze the expression of mir-491-5p in gastric cancer tissues and serum and its value in the early diagnosis of gastric cancer.

Methods: Eighty-two cases of gastric cancer patients with complete data who were treated in the gastrointestinal surgery of our hospital from January 2019 to January 2020 were retrospectively analyzed as the observation group, and 60 healthy people were selected as the control group at the same time. Five ml of fasting venous blood was collected from the subjects in each group in the morning. The level of mir-491-5p was detected by quantitative PCR. The serum and tissue levels of mir-491-5p were compared in each group, and the value of mir-491-5p in the early diagnosis of gastric cancer was analyzed by the ROC curve.

Results: The level of mir-491-5p in the cancer tissues was significantly lower than that in the adjacent tissues (P<0.05), and the change in the level was related to tumor size, clinical stage, and differentiation degree (P<0.05). The mir-491-5p level in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the adjacent tissues (P<0.05), and the change in the serum mir-491-5p level also was related to tumor size, clinical stage, and differentiation degree (P<0.05). The sensitivity of the cut-off value was 1.89% for the patients with gastric cancer, and the cut-off value of the specificity was 1.86% for the patients with gastric cancer.

Conclusion: The abnormal expression of mir-491-5p in the cancer tissue and serum of patients with gastric cancer is related to tumor size, clinical stage, and differentiation degree, which has a certain value in the early diagnosis of gastric cancer. The detection of mir-491-5p in cancer tissue has a higher value in the diagnosis of gastric cancer and can be widely used in clinical practice.
