Abstract

To compare the clinical effect of pass and MBT on anterior teeth control in patients who need more than moderate anchorage extraction: 40 cases of orthodontic extraction, 18 cases of class I and 22 cases of class II were selected, and pass was randomly divided into two groups, In the first group, the traditional MBT straight wire arch technique was used: the cephalometric films were taken before (T1) and when the maxillary anterior teeth were aligned (T2): the changes of the position and soft tissue of the upper and middle incisors were compared by X-ray cephalometric measurement. Results in the pass group, the changes of the lip inclination of the upper anterior teeth were not significant, There was no statistical significance in the difference of measurement indexes (P>0.05): in the traditional MBT group, the labial inclination of the upper anterior teeth was obvious on T1 and T2, and the difference of measurement indexes was statistically significant (P≤0.05) and the other measurement indexes were not statistically significant (P>0.05). Orthodontic extraction cases were in alignment stage, Pass is more beneficial to align the anterior teeth with the extraction space. "Pass: moderately crowded extraction: traditional MBT.
