Abstract

Objective: This study was designed to probe into the LncRNA MALAT-1 (MALAT-1) expression in Helicobacter pylori (HP) infection-related gastritis and its relationship with comorbid tympanitis.

Methods: Chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) patients confirmed by gastroscopy and HP infection in our hospital from June 2017 to November 2019 were collected as infection group (IG, n=52), and those with chronic superficial gastritis (CSG) at the same time were selected as control group (CG, n=48). MALAT-1 expression in serum of both groups was detected by RT-qPCR, and the diagnostic value of MALAT-1 in infected patients was analyzed by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Then, they were divided into two groups according to whether the infected were complicated with tympanitis, and the risk factors of tympanitis were analyzed by multivariate Logistic regression.

Results: MALAT-1 was highly expressed in the serum of infected patients. AUC value of MALAT-1 was 0.905. MALAT-1 expression in patients with tympanitis was higher than that in those without tympanitis. MALAT-1 level might be an independent risk factor for CAG patients complicated with tympanitis.

Conclusion: MALAT-1 is up-regulated in CAG infected by HP, which is helpful for diagnosis.
