Abstract

Objective: This paper aimed to explore the effects of responsibility rehabilitation nursing interventions on the neurological function and self-living ability of elderly patients with cerebral infarction (CI).

Methods: CI patients admitted to our hospital were enrolled as research objects, of which 126 cases in the observation group received responsibility rehabilitation nursing interventions, while 100 cases in the regular group received routine nursing interventions. Their neurological function and self-living ability were observed.

Results: The length of hospital stays (LOS) was shorter in the observation group. Before nursing, there were no significant differences in SAS and SDS scores between the two groups. After nursing, the anxiety and depression of the patients were relieved in the two groups, and the two scores were remarkably lower in the observation group (P<0.05). After nursing, the NIHSS score was improved in the two groups (P<0.05), and the score was remarkably lower in the observation group (P<0.05). After nursing, the self-living ability (FMA score and Barthel index) of the patients enhanced in the two groups, and the FMA score and the BI were higher in the observation group (P<0.05). Compared with those in the regular group, patients in the observation group had a remarkably lower incidence of nursing errors and complaint rate (P<0.05), but remarkably higher nursing satisfaction (P<0.05).

Conclusion: Responsibility rehabilitation nursing interventions can remarkably improve the neurological function and enhance the self-living ability of elderly patients with CI.
