Abstract

Objective: To analyze the relationship between ADD1 Gly460Trp gene polymorphism and susceptibility to essential hypertension.

Methods: From January 2018 to January 2019, 80 patients with essential hypertension were selected as the hypertension group, while 60 healthy people who came to our hospital for physical examination were selected as the control group. The general data of sex, age, smoking history, drinking history and family history of the two groups were collected, the blood lipid levels of the two groups were detected, and the genomic DNA was extracted by phenol/chloroform method. Furthermore, ADD1 Gly460Trp gene polymorphism was detected by PCR. Lastly, the blood pressure of different genotypic patients was compared and the total effective rate of different genotypic treatment was compared.

Results: BMI, TG level and drinking history of the hypertensive group were significantly higher than those of the healthy control group (P<0.05). The GlyGly genotype composition was 21.25% vs 26.67%, the GlyTrp genotype composition was 50.00% vs 45.00%, and the Trp Trp genotype composition was 28.75% vs 28.83%. The difference between the two groups was not statistically significant (P>0.05). Furthermore, there was no significant difference in the allele frequency of Gly and Trp between the two groups (P>0.05), while the SBP level of patients with the Gly Trp and Trp Trp genotype was significantly higher than that of patients with the Gly Gly genotype (P<0.05). The DBP level of patients with the Gly Trp genotype was significantly higher than that of the Gly Gly and Trp Trp genotype (P<0.05). After treatment, the overall effective rate of blood pressure reduction in Gly Gly, Gly Trp and Trp Trp genotypes was 29.41%, 40.00% and 60.87%, respectively, while the genotype of Trp Trp was significantly higher than that of the other two groups (P<0.05).

Conclusion: There was no significant correlation between ADD1 Gly460Trp polymorphism and the incidence of essential hypertension. Patients with the Gly Trp genotype had a higher DBP level, while patients with the ADD1 460Trp gene had a higher SBP level.
