Abstract

The clinical effect of intermaxillary traction nail and mini-titanium plate implantation in the operation of jaw fracture and its effect on reduction were explored. Ninety patients with jaw fracture admitted to our hospital from February 2017 to January 2019 were divided into control group (45 cases) and experimental group (45 cases) according to random number table method. Both groups were operated on. The control group was treated with traditional dental arch splint and intermaxillary traction, while the experimental group was treated with intermaxillary traction fixation combined with mini-titanium plate. The clinical efficacy, periodontal index, such as gingival index (GI), plaque index (PI), dirt index (DI), masticatory function, oral function, facial recovery and incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. The total effective rate was 82.22% (37/45) in the control group and 95.56% (43/45) in the experimental group, which was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in GI, PI and DI between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, GI, PI and DI indexes of the two groups were significantly improved compared with those before treatment, and those of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group, with statistical significance (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in chewing function, opening function and facial recovery between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the masticatory function, opening function and facial recovery of the two groups were significantly improved compared with those before treatment, and the functional scores of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group, with statistical significance (P < 0.05). The incidence of complications was 17.78% (8/45) in the control group and 4.44% (2/45) in the experimental group. The incidence of complications in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). In the surgical treatment of jaw fracture, the effect of intermaxillary traction nail implantation combined with mini titanium plate fixation is definite, and the reduction effect is ideal. It can promote the improvement of periodontal index and related functions of patients, with fewer complications, and it is worth popularizing.
