Abstract

Background: This study aimed to investigate changes and diagnostic value of NGAL and MMP-9 after treatment of atorvastatin combined with clopidogrel in patients with angina pectoris of coronary atherosclerotic heart disease (CHD).

Material and method: A total of 80 cases of patients with CHD angina pectoris who was admitted to The 4th People's Hospital of Shenyang from March 2016 to September 2017 were collected. Patients were treated with atorvastatin combined with clopidogrel, and the expression of NGAL and MMP-9 in serum of patients before and after treatment was detected by Elisa.

Results: The diagnostic value of NGAL and MMP-9 in CHD angina pectoris, the relationship between NGAL and MMP-9 and clinical efficacy after treatment, and the correlation between NGAL and MMP-9 before and after treatment were analyzed. The expressions of NGAL and MMP-9 in the patient group were higher than those in the normal group (P<0.001). The area under the curve (AUC) of NGAL and MMP-9 were 0.819 and 0.881, respectively. The expressions of NGAL and MMP-9 in the unstable angina pectoris group were significantly higher than those in the stable angina pectoris group (P<0.001). The AUC of NGAL and MMP-9 were 0.766 and 0.817, respectively. The expressions of NGAL and MMP-9 in the patient group after treatment decreased with the improvement of clinical efficacy, showing a positive correlation(P<0.05). The expressions of NGAL and MMP-9 in the patient group after treatment decreased with the improvement of clinical efficacy, showing a positive correlation(P<0.05). The expressions of NGAL and MMP-9 in stable angina group and unstable angina group after treatment decreased with the improvement of clinical efficacy, showing a positive correlation (P<0.05), and NGAL increased with the increase of MMP-9, with a positive correlation (r=0.746, P<0.001).

Conclusion: NGAL and MMP-9 can be regarded as diagnostic and therapeutic indexes for CHD angina pectoris.
