Abstract

Introduction: There are many influencing factors of delivery process, among which, force of labor, which is related to pregnant woman’s physical condition and mental status, is a key factor of the smoothness of labor process. This study is aimed to explore the application effect of responsibility system delivery mode plus position management with delivery ball in the delivery process.

Materials and methods: A total of 110 lying-in women from Maternal and Child Health care of Zaozhuang from January 2012 to December 2015, were divided into two groups voluntarily. Traditional delivery mode was applied for 54 women in the control group and responsibility system delivery mode plus position management with delivery ball for 56 women in observation group. Comparison of delivery process, pain situation, delivery outcome and satisfaction degree of the two groups was performed.

Results: The first and second stages of labor of observation group were quicker than that of control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.001); as for the comparison of the third stage of labor between the two groups, difference was not significant (P= 0.658); duration of the whole delivery process of observation group was shorter than that of control group, and difference was statistically significant (P < 0.001); pain feeling was lower than that of control group (P=0.019), cesarean section rate was lower than that of the control group(P=0.013),and postpartum bleeding amount of observation group was lower than that of control group(P<0.001), but satisfaction degree was higher than that of control group (P=0.003).

Conclusion: Responsibility system delivery mode plus position management with delivery ball promoted the stages of labor, alleviated women’s pain feeling, improved delivery outcome and increased satisfaction degree.
