Abstract

bjective: To investigate the changes in serum lipid metabolism and pro-inflammatory factors in patients with hyperthyroidism.

Methods: Seventy-four patients with hyperthyroidism were selected as an observation group from January 2018 to August 2018, while 60 healthy adults with physical examinations given at our hospital were selected as the control group. Comparing the two groups of blood lipid metabolism [total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein (HDL-C)], thyroid hormone [free triiodothyronine (FT3), free thyroxine (FT4)], inflammatory factors [interleukin-2 (IL-2), interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumour necrosis factor α (TNF-α)] level and liver function index [alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), γ-aminotransferase (γ-GT), and total bilirubin (TBIL)] was changed and the correlation between the lipid metabolism level and pro-inflammatory factor was explored.

Results: The levels of TC, TG, HDL-C, LDL-C, ApoAI and ApoB in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P <0.05). FT3 and FT4 were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05). The levels of IL-2, IL-6 and TNF-α in the group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Moreover, the levels of ALT, AST, ALP, γ-GT and TBIL in the observation group were significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). Pearson correlation analysis showed that TC, TG, HDL-C, LDL-C, ApoAI, and ApoB were negatively correlated with IL-2, IL-6 and TNF-α.

Conclusion: Hyperthyroidism can affect the level of lipid metabolism of patients, promote the release of inflammatory factors and aggravate liver injury, both of which can be used as an important index to evaluate the condition and curative effect of patients with hyperthyroidism.
