Abstract

Purpose: To investigate the effects of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) on inflammatory injury and immune function in young rats.

Results: The expression level of IL-8 in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group (p < 0.05). Compared with the control group, PM2.5 significantly inhibited the proliferation of splenocytes and induced apoptosis (p < 0.05).

Conclusion: PM2.5 provokes persistent inflammatory injury and aggravates immune injury in young rats.
