Abstract

Objective: To analyse the effects of Nimodipine on the acute phase effect, overall prognosis, serum interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) in patients with hypertensive cerebral haemorrhage (HICH).

Methods: The 148 patients with HICH admitted to our department from February 2012 to December 2017 were randomly divided into the control group (n=74) and experimental group (n=74). The control group was given routine symptomatic supportive therapy in conjunction with the regulation of blood pressure, while the experimental group was treated with the intravenous infusion of Nimodipine on the basis of the control group for 14 days. Clinical efficacy, cranial imaging changes, serum IL-6, TNF-α, prognosis and adverse reactions were observed in both groups.

Results: The recovery rate and total effective rate of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). The amount of haematoma and tissue oedema around the haematoma in the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group after treatment (P<0.05). The 1-year and 3-year recurrence rates as well as the 3-year and 5-year morta- lity rates of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). The IL-6 and TNF-α levels in the experimental group after treatment were significantly lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). There was no significant differen- ce in adverse reactions between the experimental group and the control group (P>0.05).

Conclusion: Nimodipine in patients with acute HICH can effectively improve its clinical efficacy, relieve intracranial haematoma and oedema, reduce the recurrence and mortality rates, and significantly reduce the levels of serum IL-6 and TNF-α in patients with HICH. The application of this medicine is safe and reliable.
