Abstract

In this research, a new method is presented for internal dosimetry of liver tissue in radiotherapy by neutron. First, the Haunsfield Unit of every existing tissue in the body, and then the constituent compounds of them are defined and inputted into MATLAB and MCNPX code respectively. Then, the abdominal tissue is wholly homogeneous filled up with the related material which is having self-radiodensity, and afterwards the liver tissue is contoured and segmented among the abdominal tissue, and the exact geo- metry of the segmented liver tissue is generated as inputting data, and this data is transferred into the MCNPX code. After that, the absorbed dose is obtained in the liver tissue. This method can be performed for every patient by his/her own CT scan images to deter- mine the desired absorbed dose.
